Image of the small plan on what I think might happen in the last few weeks of this project. Down below is the writen version on whats really happening.
1 - Getting our brief and discussing how we are going to design the board differently and use Ed feedback to make the board better.
2 - Created a survey with the question that will help us with figure out what others want to see on the board. Survey been uploaded onto Facebook.
3 - Tobie as our teacher for todays lesson. We started to look up design to help give us some inspiration as well as materials we could use. We had Flo start writing on the board getting everyone to give out different ideas. At this point we have chosen wooden pallet, neon lights or fairy lights and nails. We have also came up with the font for the quote.
4 - Tobie as our teacher. Angel brought 4 wooden pallets so we're partly there with the materials, but we're still looking for the rest. Coming up with a list for the rest of the materials. We are also updating our brief and blog. It feels more like we have a idea for the board, we know what we want the wall to look like, which I feel is a big step for us and next week could be the start of our wall, quote project.
We are also taking away the boards which will be the start of our quote project. Searches on Homebase for hammer and nails and sandpaper. Ebay order for the neon light start. White light, 5m =8 x £4.89 = £39.12
- 39.12
-14.00
- 4.00
Shops - Homebase for hammers, nails and sandpaper. Amazon-Neon lights. Poundland for batteries
6 - We now have the light for the board, they are a bit thinner then what I thought they were going to be but they are long so they will work. I think when it comes to adding the lights onto the board, when spelling out the word it's going to have to to be all joint together since they can't be cut. I think either we use each light for one word or if long enough use four of the lights for each board for both words. It's the only way I can think of it happening.
We all went outside and removed the extra wood board from the panel and kept the rest in their original condition. Next we hd to sand down the panels to make they smooth and so no one would get splinters off it. In break I started sanding down the extra wood to use to widen the panels or to add on to help fill out the gaps. We then got into groups or on our own and work on the different panels. I worked with Brandon and for our panel we need to widen it to get the right length. So far our problem is trying to attach the extra wood on the length on the side. So for next week we need to find a way to attach it to the side. We also once the extra side length is attach we then need to add on the border wood. Measurement we know by the cut out, so as long no one takes that piece of board we don't need to remeasure
7-Today we should be finishing our typography, what needs finishing is adding the extra wood to help widen the panels and fill in the gaps then adding the lights. Nick said we need to go to Homebase to get tack for the light to help turn them into letters.
Today lesson me and Brandon finished adding the extra wood to the panel to make it wide, we both saw some of the wood and placed them on the panel. Nick screwed the boards together so that they were stuck together. The extra panel will be placed on the wall once We've gotten the square panel onto the wall. Inside we started doing the lights. We only got to do the top word 'Get' which we used tape for now to stick the light down before adding the tacks. At the end we didn't add the tacks nor did we get to add the second 'Get'. But I think at this point the get looks good.
Project to be continued in January.
