Reflective PT3

I think when it came to creating a design for the board I think we were more focus on the student audience as well as the staff because what I think with the wooden background it feels a bit more grown-up style and the lights are more of a student style. I also think for when it comes to days like the open day it will get a lot of attraction from parents and hopeful students.

I think the hardest part of this project was trying to come up with a board design for our quote, I think that did take a while to come up with. Another I thought to challenge for myself was breaking the panels/removing them since I had trouble trying to remove them. The easy part was really just sanding the panels down.

As a student I like what we've done, I like the mix on the wooden panels which even though they're all mixed colour I think they look cool and along with the lights they look amazing. I would say we made the right chose to stick with one colour lights, They look really nice and even better in the dark. If we were going to get another colour I could have maybe chosen red because I think they would go well with the top line quote 'IT DOESN'T GET EASIER', but I do think It will look great with just the blue lighting.

My job role in the group was mainly the helper, I helped with removing the wooden panels, Even though I wasn't that good at it, I helped sand down the wooden panels, I did a bit of sawing and help with adding the light to the board I was working on and creating a word out of the lights.

Even though it wasn't completed, I thought with the lights added on it looked really nice, the colour lights went really well with the wood background. I think maybe it could have been better if the neon lights were a bit chunkier and not so thin. But at this point, they look great and I can't wait for January when we finish them all and have them up on the wall.

Updated

The quote has now been changed to "Don't stop until you are proud" we all had a vote and that was the one we choose for the wall. We all got given a word in groups or on our own. The work I was given was Don't which to me wasn't a big challenge except for the common which one wasn't added on so it just looks like 'Don t'. Attaching the wire the the light wouldn't have been hard if Nick haven't helped so that was a easy task, next was to cut the extra plastic on the plastic ties. I then drawer out the don't on how it would look all join together then I started to actually create the the word, which was harder to do giving that the light/wire kept moving about. Finally I got the word form and put on the board. I was actually proud of the don't I thought it looked good, how ever others thought it could look better. But at least Angel thought the Don't look good so I'm happy.

I think at the end the quote looks great, so much better then the first time we did it, the colouring is better. The downer is when the room light is on you can't see the quote clearly so in future maybe different lights with a white colour then see through, if possible along with the blue light.

The quote "It doesn't get easier, you just get better" and "Don't stop until you are proud" I think they are both good quotes but I think that the 'Don't stop until you are proud' is better because it we short and easier to create on the board. Plus even though we had the board all sized for the 8 word quote, we were still able to make the quote work on all the boards.

My alternative phrase

'IF YOU DON'T CHALLENGE YOURSELF, YOU WILL NEVER REALISE WHAT YOU CAN BECOME'

Strength
Adding the neon lights - Because we knew what words to do and how we were going to place it that was easy to do.
Weakness
Communication
Deadline _ Not quite getting it done
Research - I don't feel like we did enough research on the style of the board, we decided to do.
Opportunities
£200 - Good amount which helps us get the stuff we need
Brief

Business plan review

Business plan

I found the business plan was fun but was hard to do. When it came to the money plan that was hard to do the most, the fun part was doing all the research. I think for me, the business plan did have some use for me as I want to be a publish author and doing all this research gave me lots more information about the publishing side, cost's and advertisement.

Paper engineering

So far the paper engineering project has been fun, with looking at different pop up books at the beginning and choosing and creating are own fairytale scene (I'm doing the coffin scene from snow white) and giving it a twist from the traditional fairy tale scene. So far I think the hardest part is going to be creating the pop up. The layout of where everything is coming is done it's now trying to create each pop up and hoping it will work.

PT.1.2

What is a research project

A research project is a way for someone to use creative ways to increase their knowledge about a topic they were chosen. This could be anything but when starting they will need a topic first then do research either the internet or book or create a survey to get actually people options.

purpose of a research project

The whole reason for a research project is when you present a statement you need to do research on the look of a statement from the page title, introduction, word count, abstract, conclusion, bibliography and list of contacts. It also help's if you have a main topic that way it will help you look for the mains things and not that important

which you provided research form both secondary and primary.

For Primary research, you can create a survey for my project I can ask people whether there's a believer in the paranormal, what they think about social media and how it's changed the paranormal community. Another is a website could Reddit where you ask a question and people all over the world can answer in long sentences. I've seen someone asked a similar question so If I were to use it I sure I will get a response back. Another is asking family and friends their opinion.
For Secondary research, I could look up blogs about their opinions, books, article even social media by looking up what people say about the paranormal.

When writing out the topic it also helps research a layout to make a statement look more presentable. That way you can separate it, into different sections that way it's not all cramp together and be easier to read.

potential areas of interest

contextual studies lesson with 2 - 3 potential areas of interest

Having or showing the capacity to develop into something in the future.

Social media - How it changes from the beginning to the present. From the first social media and how that inspired others to create their own media and what's it done for everyone in both good and bad. Also how it helps other and what good it was for the future.

And relate it to paranormal, looking at both believers and critics/skeptics  How it's help

reddit

Tv show - how I think it changed genre, race and sexuality. How it first started with the different genre's and how people view race and sexuality. Like Ellen Degeneres who show called Ellen was the first main character to come out as gay as well in real life. With genre from the start it was sitcoms, crimes and romance then later science fiction like Star Trek how completely different it was and creative.

music? How music started and what each genre means. Like Country, songs are usually based on the person who sings it like Dolly Parton wrote the song Jolene which is based on a women names Jolene who was trying to steal Dolly's husband whilst she was away.

Out of the three, I ended up choosing social media. At first, I was going to relate it with the LGBT community but it needed it to be related to are FMP I decided to change it and base it on the paranormal and the question is since social media becoming more active has it improve the paranormal community or given more skeptics. Also, I would like to find out if social media has made a sceptical a believer or a believer to a sceptic, Because with social media you can do a lot and fake thing so it might make people believe in the paranormal more less or maybe it just makes everyone a bit of both.

The reason I choose media and paranormal is because I use a lot of social media and the paranormal is that I am a big believer in the paranormal and so far social media hasn't changed my view on the paranormal. Even though I am a big believer I'm not that gullible, I don't believe in everything I see if I've got a feeling it's fake or can tell it's fake.

But what I do think if on social media if you follow the right people like for me I follow the Ghost adventure and the Tennessee Wraith Chasers on twitter, they are both ghost hunter teams that I watch and truly believe everything they catch on video although some things they hear I don't so I can't completely believe in all their findings but most everything else I am convinced is the paranormal. Why I follow them is because what they do is instead of automatically assuming everything is ghost related, they will investigate it and debunked if it's easily explained. It's because of this that makes me think if you follow the right people it helps people to become more of a believer or at least have more of an open mind.
