Reflection of the animation's

For the first animation it was to draw a cat; This was my attempt at a cat walking, didn't come out as what I had hope since he does look like he's walking. So it I did it again I would look up animations on how to draw to that it would look like he was moving his legs.

For this animation I can already tell that in future I need to do something about the speed because it's going to fast to have a good look at the final design. I'm actually happy with the way it came out I really like the fire, pentagram and the blood drops.

This is the bouncing ball animation I think it came out great, a lot better from last year attempted I think I could have left it a bit longer on the arrow instead of it repeating again. This is one of the easier animation

With the penguin animation when I did it the first  in the lesson I was told that it needed more penguin so I added more. It looks ok what I could have done better it give it a better background and have it that the end it stays still for a while before repeating.

This animation of the car race, I'm actually please with how it turned out. I think it would have been better if i hadn't drawn it so that at the beginning the cars just appears. This one was I think the easier animation to make.

This one was confusing, when I read what we had to do I didn't understand what I was meant to do, so I look at someone else work to see what they did, When I saw that I knew what to do. (Glad that we were able to look at other work). I did look up how to do the shape tween and it came out ok, just would have been better if the E didn't move away.

The emotion was embarrassing because of having to take  a photo of our self doing different emotions. Drawing them out was fun and easy to do.

Drawing the cat was fun, we had to come up with a character, so I drawn a cat. I tried to copy a siamese, which didn't completely work but I'm happy with how he came out. I also named his Diablo.

This is the waiting animation where only one part of the character move, I did the eye's because I thought it would be easier which it was and I think it came out good I'm very happy with how it came out.

With the sleeping, I wrote Diablo breathing to make his look like he was asleep. I think drawling the breathing could have looked better a less un even but I'm happy with it and i don't think I did that bad of a job.

This is the eating. This one could have been done a lot better. I didi have trouble drawing him because it was facing the side. The main problem with the drawing was the head and the tail which looks like a 'loaf of bread'. Next time I should have drawn it differently so that it could have look better and made it easier for me

Car advertise

Coming up with an advert in 7 minutes was not the easies thing to do. It was easy coming with a the right car because it being the royal family it had to be a family car because of the baby. It was more coming up with an design that included the car and the royal baby. The car was more easier to do them the baby because with the baby you had to find away to put it somewhere.

The baby was placed on the window to look like he's in the car which then lead to erasing half of his body so that it was sat in the car. Add the crown was easy but if we had more time it would have been placed more into the car then a bit out of the car.

I think the "A chariot fit for royalty" was good, maybe it could have been placed somewhere else and the ford again could have been places somewhere else and bigger, if it was working.

I do think our advert came out good, the only problem was the time, I think it's because we're not used to creating adverts and so it made it a bit difficult for us but it was good practice for what it's like when working in advertisement or any job that has a quick deadline.

CV Update

Going through my CV there were a lot that needed improvement, main things were me saying what I enjoy instead of what I am good at. Another was the placement of my name, address, email and contact numbers. It should be in the centre.

I'm actually happy that I got my CV checked, I do wish it was checked before I gave it into a workplace (never got an interview). I thought it was fine since I did it at college and had a teacher check it. But now I know ways to improve it and make it better I feel more better so that when I apply for another job I know that it look great.

New CV

female representation in film poster

Using the information from the different websites about women's role in the film industry I placed facts along with the websites that talk about women in the film industry.

Production

After recording in our groups, talking about our new year's resolution in different rooms we got told to record background sounds to add to the video. In the video, we added sound like two different doors opening and closing and footsteps

Without background sounds
https://soundcloud.com/megan-early-955508875/new-years-background

With background sounds
https://soundcloud.com/megan-early-955508875/new-year-no-background

This has the sounds from the background I added to the video, sounds you would hear in the areas we recorded (corridor and Hive c)

Now with the added sound creation items, I needed to use the Audio clip mixer to change the volume of the sound so that it sounds loud enough that you can hear to door's/footsteps but not too loud so that you can't hear them speaking.

By doing this project I've learned how to merge sound clips together as well as adding sound creation items.

With the Warren Occult Museum, I needed to talk about what was happening at the museum and talk about Ed and Lorraine Warren since it was them that started the museum in the late 1950's. I also needed to add a soundtrack for the jingle which I got off a website (http://incompetech.com) that was Royalty free music. Again using Premiere Pro help with the volume and adding audio effects to make the jingle sound better.

Audio production design

With Audio Productions there are different way to record audio, depending the mic's and Premiere Pro.

With film it helps to have a boom mic so you can record sound sparely from the camera, that way when it comes to editing you get a clear sound from the actors voice or sound effect then what you would get from the a camera.

This is something I mention in my talk about the film Envelope of love that I wrote and filmed. In that I explains about the audio.

Link to podcast

When it comes to podcast or the radio you don't really need a boom mic to record, what I used was the mic on my headphone which worked as well it sounded clear when i held it closer to me, or you can use a microphone that connect's to a recorder and stand to hold the mic on cause if you're holding it you might move and it could mess with the sound of voice, like when it's near to you and then it moves away you going to sound both and quite.

Another is when you link both the camera audio and the recorded audio together

For my original 90 second news report on the warrens occult museum I used Premiere Pro which for Audio help's when it come to the volume's, because I had recorded what I was going to say twice  because when editing it I knows mistakes and speech that was a bit hard to understand, you could tell that I had done to recording twice because one part of the speech was loud and clear where as the other was more quiet. So using the volume on I could improve it a bit by making the quiet parts louder, as long as it doesn't go pass the red line.
I can control the volume of the music so that when I hear myself speak I can figure out what needs to sound louder or lower.

Compare

When I did my 90 second news report I used the mic on my head phone which I think came out great and I sounded clear. I used this mic for both original and and the update. The problems with using the mic on headphones is if not holding it will move and could hit something which could mess with the sound. Another is because I did the talking twice in different way still using the same mic it just didn't sound clear the second time.

Updated

Also with using Premiere pro for audio it help with the volumes and audio Transitions mostly with the music to have it fade away. With Sound tracks like music when its playing at the beginning it help with both audio and music to be on separate lines so that you can control the volume so that when I start to speak it's loud enough that the music isn't over powering.

My t-shirt design

Main image ideas Bloody pentagram, dead rose, candles and cross ( Might less it if too much)

Form my designs I have come up with my final design, It's a bit different from what I had originally came up with but it came out great.

The brand name is the same 'Occult Clothing'

my Originally ideas  was going to have a pentagram, cross, candles and a dead rose and the scratch

(main focus) The slashes in the top

But I ended up with just 2 of the designs, the pentagram and the candles. Which I think looks better then if I added all the rest (might have been a bit too much) I'm actually happy with how it came out mostly the pentagram and the candles which I thought would cause a lot of trouble was actually easy and came out great, I think anyway.

Making the Cold Vs Fire film

Script

Writing out the script was easy because I had an idea where I would be shooting it, so when it came to writing the layout on where the actor (Conna) would going. I had an idea before the one I used for the film. In my mind the script for this film looked great the only trouble was how complicated it would be to edited all together because their was a mirror scene ( The film was a POV, so when the camera is aimed at the mirror you should only see him and no camera) I thought that because we had a lot time before we had to start filming, that I could look up ways of achieving that shot by using Google and youtube. At the end I decided to not do that idea because it was too complicated and I was just making it more harder on me.

I ended up using the 2nd script for my film which was a lot simple the second time I wrote it. The 1st time, scene 1 is all similar on what I had already writing it was only when it got to setting the envelope on fire, that was the really challenge, because I wanted it so that it would look like he was setting the envelope on fire in the room, but not actually setting it on fire in the room I wanted to find away to edited it so that I do the whole fire thing outside and then use Premier Pro to edit so that it would look like it was being done from the inside. Again I decided to not do that because it would cause me a lot of trouble, so I re-wrote it so that the hitman would have to go outside to set the fire. At the end my finished script came out great, I did do 2 (one with the camera shots on it).

Filming

Could only shot it in one day because It was the only day Conna was off work, Because Conna didn't know when he would off work again I did it all in one day.

When it came to filming, that was hard. Because it had started to rain a bit, so I decided to do the outside first just incase it started to pour down (Luckily it didn't). Doing these first shot's.

That was easy, it did take a few takes but easy to do. It was when it got to the back garden that the real trouble started. For one I had to take out the over-shoulder shot because Conna is so tall that even standing on the stairs I still couldn't get a good shot so I ended doing a wide and close up shot. Next was the wind, Because we were using matches the wind kept blowing it out and when the envelope did catch on fire it did have the effect I wanted plus it would also go out. We kept on trying until we gave up and asked someone for a lighter. Filming the scene for the last time the envelope was set on fire and gave me the right effect I wanted. I really like recording the envelope burning it looked really cool, I also had Conna, Jenna and my mum watching. Once I was sure I had enough footage and when it started to get really smoking, Conna poured the bucket of water over it. The trouble with doing this scene first was that because it took so long to do (Longer than I thought) that it started to get dark so indoors through the window it's dark whereas outside it's day time.

Once indoors I got the stairway done. That I did have to rush because someone was telling me to hurry up so lucky for me I was able to do that in one shot. It wasn't what I had intended to do, I was meant to get a wide side shot of Conna walking down the stairs and have the camera following him, but because their was someone in the living room watching tv I couldn't do it but this way came out fine.

Upstairs was a lot of trouble because I wanted to do a point of view but my camera would go out of focus, i think it's because of my camera and maybe if it was one of the smaller cameras it might have been better. Just getting the scene of walking into the bedroom picking the envelope up and taking my phone out was hard enough to do because it wouldn't focus. What really didn't help was having someone tell me to hurry up which really stressed me out a lot more then I was already was. I ended up deciding to just take a picture of the envelope and text so I wouldn't have to worry about the focus. At the end I finally got what I wanted.

What I thought would be a lot of trouble was Conna's bedroom because it was a lot smaller then what I thought it was plus the mirror which I thought I would have a lot of trouble with turned out fine, because I thought you would see me in the mirror but you didn't which was great.

Once I was done and finished, I almost forgot to do the sound of walking and car engine (didn't use at the end) lucky I was reminded and so me and Conna went out and recorded the sounds using his car. Whilst my mum and nan had another drink (even thought I was told to hurry it up) I decided to see if I could take a better picture of the envelope and the text. (text didn't come out right on premiere pro so I added text so people could read it).

Editing

Editing the film was easy at editing the clips and sound together because I knew what clips to use, I'll admit the begin was hard trying to find the best focus one, but the rest was fine. The sound and music that was easy and hard. Easy because I knew what websites to look on, hard because when it got to the scene where the hitman is making his way to the back garden I couldn't fine a music piece that suit it. I did find one but when I listen to it the second time, it really didn't sound right with then scene. Lucky I found a piece I think works a bit better with it.

The hard parts was the added effects, I wanted to change the colouring of the bb gun in black but every time I tried it wouldn't change the gun but little bits of the background. I looked on the internet for help but every time I do the same thing it won't change like it does in the videos I've watch. I tried it with two clips that needed colour changes but nether would work. I was able to use some effects for the video and audio like the clips fading in and out of the scene and the music fading out instead of the song cutting out.

At the end I think that my film came out great I really liked the fire bit and the music, in future I would try another way of filming which is not POV or get a different camera cause I was using a canon 750 so I might start looking into smaller camera and again maybe do the indoors first even if it starts to rain and just see how to combined to the film, that way the outside would look better.

Cold Vs Fire short film

For some reason my video can't be viewed because of restricted Mode. I've tried to turn the restricted Mode off but it won't, I think it could just be the computer since someone was able to comment on it.

Was my project successful - if not why? Break down the elements i.e audio/visual

Production
I would say that my project was partly successful and partly not so successful. Recording-Because of the rain I did the outside first instead of indoors like I had plan to do because it started to rain and not wanting to chance it I decided to record the outside first then the indoor shots. Turns out it did rain and The recording took longer then I thought it would and now the day time look wrong cause indoor through the window it's getting darker where as outside it's still got day light.

Filming (focus)-Because of the camera I was using, that's when it came to POV (me holding it and moving around with it) it would go out of focus which was really annoying. I think it was ok that it went in and out of focus when The scientist is dying it looks like he's going in and out of conscious but other then that it wasn't really that good.

Post-Productiom Special effects- They're are a view things in my film that I wanted to change the colour of like the BB gun, lighter and tv, but every time I tried to it would change anything with the similar colour or change into a completely different colour then what I was asking for. I used youtube and watch clips from other doing and It always looked easy but when I tried it it never worked. It's my fault because I was meant to buy a black bb gun but forgot.

Audio-It was windy out so when listening back to the audio you can't hardly hear different footsteps and the car engine and the noises of the car in the background didn't help with the sound either, so I ended up using free sounds to get the sounds that I needed,. which I think sounds better.

Music-I've used 4 pieces of music and the third piece (Scenes leaving the bedroom to the back garden) that was for me really hard because I couldn't find a piece that sound right for that scene and usually, I think, I'm good at finding the right music to put with the scene but this was difficult. I finally found a piece and added it to the film but when listening it again a week after adding it, it didn't sound right so I had to look for another music piece and I did find another music piece which I think is a lot better but I think another could be better if I could find what i was looking for.

  • What feedback did you receive from your peers? How will you capture this? (Youtube Comments?)
When we had to watch each other's film I was told that they liked my film and the fire part. I also got a youtube comment from Conna saying "I love it Meg, good editing! Was fun filming too!"

I'm really happy that that someone like's it and very glad that he had fun filming.
  • What would you change/do differently?
Production
What I would change is the order I recorded this, I would have done indoors first then outside and if it did rain then I would just have to make it work with the film. Another would be the POV I would not do that if I had known how difficult it would be to record and done different shots.
  • How will you improve for your next project?
Production
Choose better shots or try out before hand. If it gets dark quickly alway do the 1 scene no mater what and if weather is bad just find a way to work around it or with it. Another would be have an extra day to film incase of any mistakes.

  • What did you enjoy/not enjoy?

Production
What I did enjoy was working with my cousin Conna it was fun getting him in involve with my film and lucky he had fun as well (even if it took a while to record everything). The was recording the fire that was fun and cool and looking at it in the film I think it looked great.

What I didn't enjoy was the indoor recording because a person was telling me to hurry up whilst I was already stress with trying to get my camera to focus whilst walking around with it for the POV shot, so future maybe not do it at a house and where family are around (cause they were not helping).

Post-Production
I like finding the perfect music piece to go with the film that was fun. I also enjoyed editing the video clip together cause I knew what needed to go where and it was easy and simple to do, plus it was nice looking back at all the clips and seeing what I had recorded.

Another was some of the special effects only the ones involving changing the colour of a object that was not fun and I still didn't get it so it all stayed the same colour which was annoying cause I think it would have made the film look a bit better.

  • How effective was your production team?

Because I missed a week I wasn't sure which team I was in and not wanting to waste the week and the only day Conne knew he was off work that also worked for me I did the recording on my own but I think I did a good job on it and I'm very happy with what I did. Conna helped a bit with watching the clips back with me to see what he thought, plus he was my safety guy with the fire as he put it out for me.
  • How effective was your planning in terms of execution?

I think my planning was good, I had may scripted with the camera shots on so I knew what shots I needed, I had most of the stuff i need for the film all packet and ready (Conna had the other stuff like clothing and the bb gun) Their were a few thinks that didn't go to plan (day time turning to night) but mostly it all did and I'm happy with that. I had writing down everything I needed then marked off what I got, what Conna had and what I need to borrow from college.

Fashion inspiration

When it comes to fashion my favourite style is gothic. I like the black's, the dead paranormal styles. I love it so much that I got two tattoos that relates to the gothic/paranormal styles. For me I think it start when I was younger.

Tattoo 1 and Tattoo 2

Kat Von D
The whole gothic styles start when I watch LA ink, the main tattoo artist, Kat Von D. She wears kind of dark gothic styles clothing which is how I discover that sort of fashion along with her tattoo's.

Ghost Adventures and most haunted
When I started watching paranormal shows like Most haunted and ghost adventure I got more into the paranormal and wanting to try out ghost haunting and saw their kind of clothing's they wear like Yvette Fielding she wear black clothing and Zak also wears black clothing but with images like cross and skulls, he also has a tattoo of a skull angel (which is really cool).

Evanescence
Amy Lee

Amy Lee is the lead singer in the band Evanescence which is a rock band. There styles is dark and gothically and the way Amy looks with her black hair and clothing looked really nice and got me more into the gothic fashion.

Scooby Doo Hex girls

Weird! But I also believe that the cartoon band Hex girls got me into the gothic fashion only then I wasn't into fashion and wasn't sure what kind of style but I really like the whole dark clothing and vampire teeth that I alway wanted to try and copy their style (mostly looking for the right vampire fangs). I was really young.
