For the chosen media, it is publishing because of the project being pop up. For our project, we had to choose a scene from a fairy tales story and re-create it as a pop-up. The story I have chosen is Snow White and the 7 dwarfs and the scene I chose was the coffin scene where the prince wakes her up from her death like sleep. For my project, i also gave the story a bit of a twist. So for my story, i re-wrote the ending as Snow White did end up dying by suffocation by being in the coffin for so long and the prince finally finds her but too late. He's half a vampire and using his gift he turns Snow White into a vampire and them both living a long and happy life. The dwarfs stayed her friend up until their dying days.
This type of scene I think people who are interested in either fairy tales like Snow White or vampires they would like this pop up to other them might find it interesting.
At the start of the project Steve came us a variety of different pop up for us to look at, my favourite one was the sleeping beauty, the way it was on black paper used for the popup it looked like shadows, it was simple and really nice. Another cool one was the pop up with sounds and light, now the pop up alone were amazing and the lights were a nice touch just maybe it didn't need sound but it does depend on what others think about it.
Choosing our fairy tale I was originally going to do Pinocchio, The idea was to re-create the scene at the end where Jiminy cricket got his badge, become a conscience, but it was trying to come up with which parts should pop up. I then decided to look for a different tale and went for Snow White and went for the coffin scene, because we could add our own twist to it and with that scene I could definitely come up with my own idea for the coffin scene.
With that idea, Next was to look up other snow white pop up books with the coffin scene. That turned to be a bit of a challenge because one there wasn't a lot and two most coffin scene either didn't happen or I would just get a normal book without the pop-up art. I had at least 3 books that including the Disney version and another way was using youtube to find a video of someone using the pop-up.
I wanted to look at snow White pop up coffin scenes so that I could see how other had created their scene's. And with what I got I found two with different ways but similar. The coffin always attached to both pages so that you would have to keep one page up to keep coffin looking pop up and not flat.
On youtube, I also came across an Alice in Wonderland book and it was the tea party caught my attention. The way the table pop up and went down and that was how I was going to have my coffin. The idea was the coffin stuck across both pages and have the sides go down.
I then went on to drawing snow white, the prince and one dwarf and try to come up with a different style, so that it didn't look like the Disney version or any of the book version. That wasn't that hard to do and didn't take me that long to come up with a design for the characters.
For the characters I wanted to give it a bit of a dark twist, but given that I had to actually re-write the ending and show it on my pop up, I ended up changing it a bit because I couldn't come up with a story and so I changed it so that it was similar to the actual ending but just had it that Snow white did die and instead of awakening by a kiss she gets bitten in the neck by a half vampire prince.
Re-writing the ending was actually very easy to do, mainly because once I started writing it I couldn't stop and with ideas' coming to me I got it all written in one lesson, I then used Grammarly to check my spelling and grammar. Once that was done I then added it to the sheet of paper I wrote on and then copied it into my book, the page of the book I use for the pop-up.
Starting the pop-up scene I had drawn out where everything would go to make it easier to just to stick down. Starting with the coffin I realised that Snow white won't work because it more how she would stay up, so I ended up moving the coffin so that the back stuck to the left page and the base was stuck down on the right page. Next was to cut out the rest of the characters. The dwarfs were the annoying because I had to cut out 7 of them they drew their faces on. I also added a bit of grass, flowers and a tree as pop up to add a bit of detail.
Next challenge was to come up with a way to make they pop up. For the prince I added a long folded piece of paper on the back of the price and stuck the end piece on the page, it was so that when the page was open he would pop up, but it didn't go to plan because the paper was to short and it kept him flat. For everything else, I kept it that it bent near the feet and stuck that down. With Snow White, I stuck her back to the left page so that she would be sat in her coffin.
Lastly, I then added colour to make it nicer, I tried to create a forest on the left page, my only problem was trying to not go overboard. Also on the middle part, it has a white patch, why it's still white is because I didn't know how to cover it. I know with forest when in a picture you see trees after tree after tree, also you got grass and sky. Now I thought I had enough trees and started adding the sky and grass but I didn't want to have half the paged blue and the other green because I don't think it would look right. Like other pictures they can have it that it looks like you're looking into the further part of the forest but I can't do that so I left it how it was because I thought it looked ok but if I were to do it again I will use google or youtube to help me draw the forest.
Finished results, I think it looks good, I think the colour makes it stand out and makes it look a lot better then what it did look like without. I really like my characters I think they look good. What I think could have been better is the pop-up. Because of the thin paper used for the characters, they stay flat even when you open the book, which I think is because of the paper that I used, so if I were to do this project again I would use a different martial.

PT 2.2 interview
For the interview part of the project what I have decided to do is interview people that are involved with the paranormal, so what I decided to do is look up paranormal invesigators on facebook, mainly group and also look on youtube for youtuber who are parnaormal investigator.

I also got 4 responses from the form I sent out on Facebook and these's are the results.

More people are both the believers and skeptic.

I have also decided to answer my own question as well as I am someone who is fascinated by the paranormal.
Are you a Believer, Skeptic or a bit of both?
I would answer that I am a bit of both, I do believe in the paranormal I do believe that when people die sometime they will stay on earth in their home or where they died and haunt them because either they haven't seen the light yet and are confused and may not realised they are dead or maybe they don't like the fact that someone else is living in their home and want them out. Why I am also a skeptic is more with people who claim they can see the spirits, I not saying they are all liars I do believe that other have gift to see spirits but when it come to people wanting to make money then no I don't believe. Another is evidence manly videos of a suppose haunting then those are the one you really need to be very open minded and think what could they have done to make this happen.
2. Do you think social media has helped the paranormal community?
I think it's both helped and not so much helped. Its a great way to meet people who follow the same subjects like paranormal like you and making friends that way. It also getting help from others if you do have a haunting or ask for advice. Why social media hasn't help is when people put up videos and picture of a spirit and then really photoshop or edited it, or alway reading comment that it's not real, loads of rubbish and that it's fake, it's very annoying and one reason why it's not good because places like twitter anyone can post anything unlike Facebook where you can join groups and hear positive thing about the paranormal.
It's also help by leaning different facts about the paranormal that you might not have known, so it also helps improve your knowledge form just spirits to demon, poltergeist, ghost equipment, smudging, different haunted buildings, places, ECT .
3. Has social media changed the way you think about the paranormal
I would say it has. For me in my family I am the only who really believes it and so it nice find out other also believe in it as well. Also finding out more about other well known people in the paranormal community that I didn't know about. But it was social media that made me realised that I can't always believe everything people say on social media about the paranormal or shown, mostly when people explain why it's fake, which was a bit upsetting but help me realised that not everything is real or shouldn't straight away believe it, and be a bit more open minded about it and not just believe it.
Results I followed two groups (GHOST HUNTERS and SERIOUS PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION) on both pages I posted my questions and asked if they could comment back.
I also emailed a another parnaomal team from youtube. The UK Ghost Hunt UKGH
Neither of them answered me back so I found another person on Facebook called Mark Smith, a psych medium. I messagen him my question and he replied back. I think that he was the better person because he has a gift to see spirits instead of people who go searching for spirits.

Books
1) Infinite Ripper - The Social Media Revolution - Author: Glenn Mehta published - self published with Xlibris 2013

Infinite Ripper - The Social Media Revolution is about how social media can be used in a professional and personal life. Away to help business and interact with customs and learning the different slangs and whether you are a already an expert social media user and how it can help you become or successful. Why I chose this book is because it realtes to social media but also for FMP, I am writing a book and also want to self publish it. So if i want to become a self publish author, I need to be updated on anything relating to social media to help sell books.
2) Paranormal Media: Audiences, Spirits, and Magic in Popular Culture - Author: Annette Hill published - Routledge in 2011
Paranormal Media: Audiences, Spirits, and Magic in Popular Culture is a book that talks about paranormal presented on different media platforms like magazines, tv, social. They talk about how it's used from tv shows like supernatural to reality tv shows like Most haunted but also talking about how most paranormal activity caught is not always cause by spirits.
To me this book both helps and not help the paranormal community through media. Because when it comes to reality shows like most Haunted and Ghost Adventures, there are always chances that something might not be real. Now with Ghost Adventures they do debunk evidence that show it wasn't ghost activity but most are. And another when they say they herd something and we the viewer can't hear anything it makes you wonder if they're just saying it to make out there something there.

The article I link is Azcentral 'Part of the USA Today network'. The article is about a man, who along with his 2 cousins, aunt and grandfather live have been experiencing something supernatural. The man, Calderon turned to social media for help, where he uploaded photos' and video and explained what was happening along with a word that he couldn't understand. Why I choose this article is because I thought it relates to my project, both media and paranormal. It may not answer the question I am asking, but it does show that he used social media as a well to find help form the paranormal community. But it dos show that social media has help the paranormal community, mainly for people who needs help or has question, social media has help by being able to send his plead and having people answering in minutes. Though some might not be useful at least he's getting help from people who believes in the paranormal and want to help.

Dear David Storify - Adam Ellis - Started 4 months ago. On twitter - first tweet Aug 7th, 2017

The link is to a series of tweets by a man named Adam Ellis, talking about his life and the haunting he's expressing. I choose this because to me it counts as a Journal on social media - Twitter. The ghost he say's is haunting him is a boy named David. He took this to Social Media show what he's going thought and keeps it updated, like a journal. He has also caught the attention of other and since has more followers and people giving his advise and support. To me, this has brought together a paranormal community and showing that paranormal does exist, basically helping the paranormal community.
Because of social media he is able to show what he's been going through and share with other. More people who see it could start having second thought about the paranormal (positive way) or maybe non-Believers are going to comment something negative.
Dear David FAKE??? Reported by Felix Allen, published on 14th December 2017 4:40 PM

The link is a news article from The Sun, it relates to the Dear David story. It now appears that dear David might be fake because of the latest post. The fan who follows his tweet is now questioning whether Dear David was at all real. For me, this is relevant because it relates to media and paranormal. This to me has let the paranormal community down a bit because of the latest post and that you can't completely trust what people put on social media, even with the other pictures, video and tweet. Maybe Dear David is real, and he just decided to add the pictures to help more people to follow, but backfired. But after that last post, he continues to update everyone about David. A reality or just a fake gripping story?
With this I don't think it help the paranormal community because it gives another reason why non-believers shouldn't believe when people who say they're being haunted and with picture/video evidence it still shows that it could be staged or faked.
FMP
Why this is relevant to my FMP is because I want to write a fiction book on the paranormal and also self-publish it. Being about paranormal I need to know how it's reflexed on social media how it travels around, and if it's still popular and something people still believe in or something they're interested in, if not then books with paranormal themed stories won't be that popular to people who are not believers or not interested. This will help with book sale if it popular around social media and look for paranormal fans and groups.

When asked where had they come from, most people said college or shops, the other was working.
When asked how many times had they gone to LJ most said this was their first time, mainly because of the lines, how long they were. This showed one problem of LJ, were the lines. A favour is the taster box, which knowing this information I could have added in the main something like "A custom favourite"
Why they all come to LJ's were most comments that other family members had said, which shows that when people had heard others experience with LJ's they went as well.
When asked what could be improve they said the line. Another person said that there could be another LJ's. If Louise is deciding to open another LJ's this information is something that could be added to the empty box that i provided.
Staff all got positive feedback, which again could be something I could had added on to my menu with the intro. This is comments that people want to hear and give them reasons to go because of the friendly staff..

The project is to create a backboard with the quote "It doesn't get easier you get better". After our first attempt which was a bit of a disappointment we were told to re-do the project.
Job Roles
Design inspiration - One job role was to look for a different design that we could place on the back wall that would look profession and show of our hard work. I did find some and gave my thoughts on what we could do. I only had one put on the board and one I found on the internet.
Goal - Find a design that we all agreed too and believed we could accomplish.
Research - Research the stuff we need to find and ways on how we were going to assemble it all together.
In my option I do think that this was our weakness, I don't think we did enough research to really understand how we were going to design the board along how it was going to be assembled together and what equipment we needed.
Goal - find equipment like lights, nails, wood panels, ECT.
Job role name not sure -Taking the panels apart and sanding them and nailing them. This took us I think 2 sessions. For me taking the extra wooden panels was hard work, so I got more on to sanding which was much better. With also got put into two and given a panel each with either widen or shorten the panels and add on extra wood to fill in the gaps.
Goal - have all panels the same size and sanded down.
Attending the lights - Next was to get the panels inside and to start with assembling the light onto the board or at least tryout and see what it would look like before actually attaching the lights to the panels.
Goal - Go get the light turned into words and attach them to the boards (still not finished yet)

For my LJ Hug's project I created two paper back menu, One a regular menu and a kids menu.

How I though I could get my menu at to others is by having a extra table, like the one Lj's has when their spices sit and get a see through book or metal paper tray, something that the menus could go in.
Town
I think there it would be great to have more brochure menus then kids only because when i've gone to LJ Hugs there are hardly any kids about so with the kids menu only a few could be placed out. With the Brochures again placed out on a table in a box or a paper tray. Another would be because of it being in a public place that LJ staff could hand theme out to other people to see. Plus being a brochure it small enough for people to just hold or to fold up and put into their pockets if they don't have bag's.
Bath Rugby
Bath rugby I think would be a hit with the kids menu, being a family day out it keeps the kids entertain whilst the parents get the meals. For the brochure that could just be placed on a table just people to pick up. This could be waiting customers or people just walking along.
University of Bath
No kids menu because no ones a child. Brochure again I think Only a few maybe placed on the shack because it's late, students are there to get their meals and being night time I don't see that many people their all at once so I don't think they would pick up a menu to read in line or waiting fir their meals since the team are very talkative which is a good thing showing that their friendly. I think only a few woiuld pick it up if they saw or one of the members said something to them about the menus.

For my product I combined Cath Kidston and Spiral for a bag design and I used the celebrity Amy Lee to help promote it.
This is the hand drawn picture of my Backpack. Using Cath backpack and the design from Spiral.

This is the completed bag, with colour and drawn on the computer.

This is the poster I made, using Piktochart.

Combined Logo
What I did was combined both Cath and spiral logo's together. Because Spiral had a better logo I used the dragon as the main background for the logo. For the Cath Kidston What I was trying to do was blend the logo into the spiral logo.
Fake instagram post
"The Brand design you never thought would combined" #Cath Kidston #Spiral" Thats the line on the Instagram post. For the fake post I got the draw bag ialong with a combined logo to show they've combined styles.

The start of the pitch, I was scared, I could hear in my voices that I was nervous, but went through with it and got it all out and presented my pitch. What I could have done better is try and keep my voice from sounding nervous. Another, from the feedback from Nick, I could have tested out the word search out with kids. Another was the spaces on the menu, which didn't help with the size of the words so that is something that needed improvement on.
I was also asked if the menus I saw as paper or digital. I saw the menus as paper only because with digital if using the internet you can't always guarantee you'll get internet access.
I did get ask by Lousie about if this is something that I would like to see, being a regular customer and I explained that it would be nice to have a paper menu and for someone like me who even with glasses hasn't got brilliant eyesight, I have to get close to the board to see what I want then go into the line. Now I know as the line goes forwards I get closer to the board, but it's nice to already know what to have before getting into the line or just being able to go straight into the line and not have to go to the board, read it whilst others are getting into the line and then I get to stand in line, further away then what I could have been if I could have a paper menu to look at in the line or to already have a paper menu and know what I want. Plus it's nice to be able to read whilst waiting.
The kid's menu, Nick pointed out that it'll be good for the kids who are waiting and to keep them occupied whilst waiting or at Bath Rugby whilst one parent is getting the one the other could be doing the word search with their kids, keeping the kids together and working together as a family.
If I were to do the pitch again, I would write down note's down keywords just to help with my nerves. Because even though I knew what I wanted to say and did say I think the notes could have helped me keep calm.
I think overall I did well for someone who hates presenting and talking in front of others. I think both menus were good but could use improving.
Feedback's I got about my menus were the blackness, another was menu 1 the front with the gaps could have been filled in. Again with the kids menu it could have had a different background colour then black and also along with the word search because of the shack was mainly hidden by the black background. Another were the word all tightly together and needed to be spread out a bit more.
