With the research I hope to find review’s, getting feedback from my questionnaire. Another is to find new skills for using Adobe Lightroom and premiere pro that could help with making my cover better and the trailer as well. For my story, I hoped to find enough information I needed for my story so I'll be able to describe things.
I did produce both Primary and Secondary research for my FMP. For my primary, I did a questionnaire for my book and trailer I wanted to find out what people read what genre was most read and would they read a book if it had a trailer to watch. I will also be making another questionnaire once I make my book trailer just so I can get feedback and see about making it better. It was also used for when I picked out my front cover photo.
For Secondary, I read up reviews for different book printing websites so it helped to find the best one to go for.
For my FMP on my book, I found a website called Grammarly which came in very useful when writing up my story, it corrected grammar and some spelling mistakes. For my trailer I looked back at some old blogs with different camera shots we learnt since that's what I wanted for my book trailer.
I did with the shooting and brightness. With the whole shooting style, I found that when I used shelves to have some objects placed on them, even though they're black like the background I thought it would show but thankfully it didn’t. I also found it better doing it away from a window because it gives it more of a dark, spooky look, so learning the right places to do the photo shoot.
With using my camera, even though I got good photos on my phone it always best to take photos on a camera as well since one it won’t print right and two because it comes out the same way it did with the other photo. I was worry that I wouldn’t get the same cool floating effect I got when using my phone but lucky I did get the same effect that I wanted.
I also found out that photoshop is not always the best and that Lightroom is very much useful since I used it for my cover and it helped a lot with the brightness and the colouring.
I did, I felt like I was more informed with what I need to do and with the extra research It made it easier to do my FMP. Maybe I was a bit nervous when it came to editing the trailer and writing the story because with the trailer once it was edited I would have to let other see it and most it's the feedback I'll be getting which make me nervous thinking about what they are going to say. With the writing, it was getting the information and then having to write it down, giving a lot of description which would take longer to write my book.
Book printing website - Because I will be able to print my book out and also I could get a quote on what I wanted and what the price would be.
Grammarly website - Because it can check my spelling and grammar to make sure I did nothing wrong.
Lightroom - Using the software helped with editing my cover making them look darker, and give it the right effects I wanted.
Changes were the book printing websites now with a different one, a video effect that I couldn’t figure out how to do. I had to re-shoot my book trailer again because it was hard to understand what the book was about and with the equipment, in the background, someone thought that maybe it was about filming because of the equipment behind it.
Having my book proofread I did have to make small changes nothing major but now it should make a bit more sense.
