Differences between a typeface and a font

Typeface

Typeface is a design used in words to make them more presentable wheather it's for the alphabet or numbers. It used shapes, symbols and images to make words creatating it into a typeface style.

Font

Font is what contains the typeface in a digital file for all kinds of typeface. It's different from typeface from how the letters are written, unlike typeface where they add shapes or stencils it's more simple.

Differences between SERIF and SAN-SERIF face

SERIF

Serif is a old styles of writing. It has the the flick's at the end of each letter's and the width both thin and bold

SAN-SERIF

San-serif is a more moden style of writing since it doesn't have the flick and the width is all the same size.

Serif is used alot more these days then San-Serif which you would mostly see in book's back in older century's.

Difference between Kerning and Tracking

Kerning is when writing a word it keeps each letter close together whereas with out Kerning it leaves caps between. His a before and after picture with and without Kerning

Tracking is kind of like the same as kerning except you can make the letters in the word as far apart or close so that their touching each other. Picture showing different Tracking.

LEADING

Leading is used for sentance between each line. You hand change it to how close or how far apart you want the lines to be. Picture showing what leading looks like.

Grid's

Grids is what are mostly used in magazine. I help because with so manny articles and stories, it needs grib to keep them all together so that when reading people who be confused on what their reading. One type of grid is called a modular grid. Grids are also used in stuff like Newspaper, leaflets for different information and facts and books.
